United States Marines Corps

The Marine Corps Maintenance Centers' operational and management processes and principles had remained fundamentally unchanged since the 1950s. When the U.S. Marine Corps began the most detailed review of its business practices ever taken in the history of its depot maintenance program, Robbins-Gioia was called to duty.

Robbins-Gioia developed the Programmed Depot Maintenance Scheduling System (PDMSS), a maintenance management tool that coordinates all resources required to perform maintenance on a major item, such as an aircraft, ship or vehicle.

RESULT: Using the PDMSS, tasks that previously took hours to complete can now be accomplished online in minutes.
